The Red Sox’s offense has been too much each of the last two games scoring a total of 21 runs. In Game 3 it was Kyle Schwarber who changed the outcome of the game with a grand slam in the second inning. J.D. Martinez and Christian Vazquez also drove in two runners. The only bright spot for the Astros was Kyle Tucker who hit a three-run home run. The Astros also had two errors, and those will need to be cleaned up going forward.

The Astros offense was the hot one during the first series against the White Sox, but this series the offense hasn’t been good enough, especially with the way the pitching staff has done. The top offensive player this postseason has been Tucker who has hit three home runs and driven in 11 RBI’s. Jose Altuve has also hit two home runs and driven in six RBI’s.

The Red Sox’s bats have been hot all postseason and it doesn’t appear they are going to be slowing down anytime soon. Four different players have driven in at least six RBI’s this postseason. The top player has been Rafael Devers who has driven in 10 RBI’s and hit three home runs. Enrique Hernandez has also hit five home runs and driven in nine RBI’s

Getting the start for the Red Sox will be Nick Pivetta and so far during the postseason, he has gone 8.2 innings giving up seven hits and three runs. His last start was four innings giving up three hits.

Getting the start for the Astros will be Zack Greinke and he hasn’t been used much during the postseason. In his only appearance against the White Sox, he went an inning giving up two hits and zero runs. The Red Sox bats are hot, and he needs to be the stopper, or this series will be all but over.

The Astros are 2-5 in their last seven playoff road games. The Red Sox are 7-0 in their last seven playoff home games. The Red Sox are 36-17 in their last 53 home games.

The Astros haven’t used Greinke much this postseason, and there has to be a reason they haven’t trusted him. The Red Sox have hot bats, and I don’t think Greinke is the guy to slow them down. Look for the Red Sox to score at least six or seven runs again in this game, and for the home team to win their third straight game.

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a Sports Chat Place Premium Picks site consensus.
