Miami Marlins (29-28) vs Oakland Athletics (12-46)

I love this spot for the Marlins at home. Oakland simply isn't scoring any runs right now and I'm not sure that changes tonight. They had one outburst against Atlanta that saw them score 7 runs. Other than that, they have scored 17 runs in 9 games. Wow. Edward Cabrera faced them once last season and shut them down. In that outing, he allowed just 2 hits and 0 runs in 8.0 innings of work. He hasn't been great this season but he has faced some tough lineups. This isn't a tough lineup and I look for him to have one of his better starts of the season in this series opener.
The A's are opening with Shintaro Fujinami with Hogan Harris expected to follow him. If the A's want any chance in this game, they will need Fujinami to pitch more than a couple of innings and they will need him to be excellent, and I simply don't see that happening. He has an era of 12.00 and he's allowing 7.2 walks per 9.0 innings. Harris is a lefty and the Marlins feast on lefties. In fact, they rank 4th in AVG .297 and 6th in OPS .799 against left handers.
This is a great spot for the Marlins to start this series off with a bang. I will gladly lay the 1.5 runs and take the home team.
Take Miami -1.5
Best of luck -- Mike
