I wanted to pull the trigger on the Diamondbacks in this game so bad but at the end of the day, I couldn't do it. As bad as the Braves have been lately and as bad as they are against righties, this is their opportunity to "get right." Ryne Nelson (2-2 5.37 era) is on the bump for the DBacks and I look for the Braves to finally have a good game offensively. Nelson has a 6.75 era at home and I simply can't trust him in this spot -- despite the Braves' struggles as of late.

Spencer Strider (5-2 2.97 era) is obviously a strikeout pitcher as he is averaging 14.98 k's per 9.0 innings. The good news for the DBacks is they haven't been striking out a lot against right handed pitchers. They have the lowest strikeout rate against righties in the last 30 days. Now, that obviously is predicated upon who they have faced, etc but I love the athleticism and grit of this Arizona team. I can see them getting to Strider in this matchup. They faced him once in his career and it was one year ago almost to the day (May 30) and Strider only lasted 4.1 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 walks, 5 runs (3 earned) and a home run.
