Brown Bears (1-3) vs UMass-Lowell River Hawks (4-1)

Brown enters the 2022-23 campaign undervalued after going 5-9 in league play last season with five losses by 4, 2, 3, 2 and 1 point, respectively. The Bears played a challenging non-conference schedule, including seven Quad 1 and Quad 2 teams from the ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and Big East, and nearly took down North Carolina, Colorado and Vermont. Brown welcomes back three starters, including one of the best three-point shooters in the league in guard Kino Lilly, who was named the Ivy League’s Rookie of the Year last year. Lilly had the fourth-best three-point percentage among freshmen nationally and was seventh in three-pointers per game (2.52). Lilly is joined in the backcourt by senior Paxson Wojcik, who made 27 starts last season and is averaging 11.0 points per game, and junior Dan Friday, who is contributing 13.0 points per game. The Bears have four players averaging double-digits, including forward Nana Owusu-Anane, who is averaging 10.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Brown has played a significantly more difficult schedule and is 9-4 ATS in its last thirteen games versus .601 or greater opposition. My math model only favors UMass-Lowell by 2.32 points in this game so grab the points with the Bears and invest with confidence.
