Davidson Wildcats (5-1) vs San Francisco Dons (6-0)

Davidson covered 60.6% of its games last season, including going 10-2 ATS (83.3%) in non-conference play, and the Wildcats are once again undervalued in the betting market. Veteran head coach Bob McKillop retired after 33 seasons but his son, Matt, served as his assistant for years and takes over a roster brimming with versatility. Davidson welcomes back one of the most prolific scorers in the Atlantic-10 Conference in senior guard Foster Loyer, who averaged 16.1 points (43.8% 3-PT%) last season and is averaging a team-high 21.5 points per game in 2022-23. Junior point guard Grant Huffman has developed into one of the better ball handlers in the conference and is averaging 9.7 points per game on 52.3% shooting from the field. McKillop brought in William & Mary transfer Connor Kochera to bolster the Wildcats’ backcourt. The 2021 Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Year has made an immediate impact, averaging 9.7 points across 33.5 minutes per game. Davidson boasts a deep and talented frontcourt anchored by junior forward Sam Mennenga and Buffalo transfer David Skogman, who started 26 games last season and made 74% of this two-pointers and 41% of his three-point attempts. The Wildcats covered 11 of their first 12 games last year and are 11-1 ATS following three consecutive non-conference games over the last two seasons. My math model favors Davidson by 1.67 points so the wrong team is favored – grab the points with the Wildcats and invest with confidence.
