My math model favors Hofstra in this game and Greensboro is a money-burning 1-8 ATS in their last nine games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games versus teams with a winning record, including 0-5 ATS versus .601 or greater opposition. Second-year head coach Speedy Claxton led Hofstra to a 21-11 record in his rookie campaign and the Pride started this season with back-to-back upset wins over Princeton and Iona. Hofstra’s strength remains its backcourt, led by senior Aaron Estrada, who shot 57% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc last season (18.5 ppg) after transferring from Oregon. Estrada leads the team with 22.6 points per game on 55.3% shooting from the floor and 44.8% from three-point territory and is joined in the backcourt by Tyler Thomas, a 6-3 senior transfer from Sacred Heart. Thomas is second on the team in scoring with 14.0 points per game (51.9% FG%; 40.7% 3-PT%). Sophomore Darlinstone Dubar, a potential All-CAA player who began his career at Iowa State and finished last season with an impressive 120.5 offensive rating, is third in scoring with 10.8 points per game. Hofstra’s frontcourt was immediately improved with the addition of Davidson graduate transfer Nelson Boachie-Yiadom, a talented 6-8 forward who averaged 15 minutes per game over three seasons for legendary coach Bob McKillop. Claxton improved Hofstra’s talent and depth via the transfer portal and has a solid eight-man rotation, with six players averaging at least 7.0 points per game. Grab the points with the Pride and invest with confidence.
