Los Angeles Angels (7-5) vs Minnesota Twins (6-7)

*3 Star Play Over* The LA Angels start Jose Quintana here. Quintana has thrown 5 innings so far this year and he has allowed 11 runs. Quintana has walked 7 batters in those 5 innings this year and that is a red flag for a guy who relies on his control. Quintana has a history of being the worst at the beginning of the year. His ERA in the months of March/April is nearly half a run higher than any other month of the year.
Matt Shoemaker has a career 4.32 ERA in the first half of the season. He has a great 2.91 ERA in the second half of the year. Like Quintana, his ERA is the worst in March/April. This is his worst period by a margin of 0.80. A large difference. Shoemaker has been shaky in his first two starts of the year against subpar offenses.
The Twins offense is a good one. Minnesota has a lot of depth. The Twins haven't had much luck with men on base this year, and that should improve with time.
The Angels are without Rendon, but this is still a very solid offense. Fletcher is a great leadoff hitter and Trout is the best player in baseball. Walsh is really performing well and Ohtani is dangerous.
Two pitchers with blowup potential here. This park is now playing as a hitters park in the last couple years as well.
Look for plenty of scoring chances.
Take the over here.
