For the 2022 NCAA Championship in my favorite sport of college hoops, we are taking the under. There is no surprise that unders have done well in big games like Championship games because oftentimes, we see the over be flooded with bets by the public, and thus the number is a bit inflated. I really like the under in this spot because I think we are getting at least three points of value here. UNC's defense is not great, but the only way the Tar Heels can compete in this game is by giving its best defensive effort of the season for 40 minutes. Kansas will look to slow this game down on defense as it ranks 279th in the nation in average defensive possession length. UNC and Kansas do like to run on offense, but in a championship setting, I don't think this game will open up too much. We saw both teams score in the 80s in their Final Four matchups but we have also seen Kansas hold four of its five tournament opponents to under 70 points and UNC hold three of its five to under 70 as well. I think the team that reaches the 75-point mark first will win this game, and I could see a scoreline in the 76-71 range, giving us plenty of room on the under at 152.5.
