Fran Dunphy is a very good head coach and I can already tell La Salle is in the right direction as a program. Game one of the season vs. Villanova with a virtually brand new roster is not an easy spot to be in, but Dunphy and the Explorers overcame adversity and covered the number in that game, beating Nova by 1 in the second half. That was despite Villanova going absolutely bonkers from three, hitting at an above 60% clip! La Salle then went on to beat Wagner and Queens pretty comfortably, and now the Explorers get another crack at a Power 6 team in Wake Forest. This matchup is a lot more reasonable in my opinion than the one vs. Nova and I expect La Salle to compete very well in this game. The Drame brothers’ experience is showing and the backcourt led by Brantley is also showing a spark on offense. This La Salle team is still getting undervalued by oddsmakers but that won’t last for long. I will take La Salle while I can still get the chance, as numbers like these will be long gone by conference play.
