I believe the wrong team is favored in this one. Both teams are looking for their first D1 win of the year as Lipscomb is 1-2 but has a win over Asbury, a subdivision school, and Tennessee Tech took losses to Tennessee and Murray State. Lipscomb's offense is great and it can make a ton of 3s, but that defense is suspect for sure. Asbury scoring in the 70s is concerning, considering that is not a DII but a DIII program. Lipscomb relies on the three-point jumper a little too much in my opinion, and that can be a problem in true road games against decent defenses. Tennessee Tech is no defensive juggernaut but it has taken care of the defensive glass so far this season and John Pelphrey's bunch has been top-200 in three-point defense in the last two seasons. Tennessee Tech is playing with revenge after losing to Lipscomb last year by a single point. Tennessee Tech is a team built from the transfer portal so there are still uncertainties about this club but I like the way the Eagles competed vs. Murray State, and in its first home game of the season, I look for the Eagles to grab the outright win. I will take the points with Tenn Tech just in case.
