I think this is the perfect get-right spot for an FAU team looking for a statement win. The Owls own a solid record both overall and in conference play, but there is no doubt that most would consider the season for FAU to be a bit of a letdown thus far. FAU is still in control of its own destiny, but cannot afford to let games like these slip away. SMU only has one top-100 true road win on the year and that was against a FSU team that is nowhere near as talented as FAU. FAU is superior on both ends of the court in this game and has a strong home-court advantage. With FAU off the loss to USF, I expect a fired-up effort from the Owls. We get to lay a reasonable price with one of the most talented and experienced rosters in the nation at home because of a few recent hiccups + SMU's recent success. I am not overreacting to recent performances, and I will gladly take FAU here.
