Oakland Athletics (7-7) vs Detroit Tigers (6-8)

I love Casey Mize more than the next guy, but this is plainly a bad spot for the young prospect. The A's are playing fantastic baseball and have already taken the first two games of this series. Now they send the lefty Cole Irvin to the mound to face a weak Tigers lineup. The Tigers have struggled mightily against left-handed pitching this season, with a team batting average of .182, an OBP of .250, and an OPS of .523. Irvin has great stuff but misses inside the zone a lot, but I think this is a game where he shines just like Frankie Montas did last night. This game should be low-scoring but I like the A's to pull it out in the end.
