Kansas City Royals (8-5) vs Toronto Blue Jays (7-8)

The Royals are favorites in this game for a very good reason, and that can be seen in the starting pitching matchup. Robbie Ray has great strikeout stuff, but he has a major issue of missing not only outside the zone and allowing a ton of walks, but also inside the zone and allowing plenty of homers. Robbie Ray allowed three hits, two earned runs off of one home run, and three walks against the Yankees in his first 5.0 innings of the season. Ray relies on missing bats, yet he only struck out three Yankees, a team that is striking out left and right this season. Robbie Ray should be in store for a very rude awakening in this start, and I would not be surprised to see him pulled in the first three innings. Brady Singer, on the other hand, may look like he has struggled; however, Singer has a FIP of 3.52 and an xFIP of 3.00. This suggests that the best is yet to come from the young prospect. Singer has a .458 BABIP currently, which means balls that are hit into play are becoming base hits almost 46% of the time. That is pure unluckiness for Singer, and I expect he will be a lot stronger in his next few starts. I will take the Royals on the money line here.
