The Yankees earned a big win on Tuesday to move within 2.5 games of the last wild card spot. Now, New York has a great shot at winning this series on Wednesday when you look at the pitching matchup. Nester Cortes Jr has been more than solid for the Yankees. Despite him struggling in his last start, Cortes has a 1.95 ERA with a 2.25 FIP and 11.06 strikeouts per nine. I believe we will start to see Cortes regress a bit in the future, but I do not think it is going to be a noticeable difference right away. On the other side, Michael Wacha is getting the start. The Yankees have done some damage against Wacha in recent years. Whether it be this year or last year when he was a member of the Mets, Wacha has not pitched too well against these Yankees. Wacha has allowed eight home runs in his last four starts, which does not bode well against a lineup that just got Aaron Judge back. I think the Yankees do some damage early on and the bullpen holds on for yet another win on the road.
