Washington Nationals (29-49) vs Miami Marlins (34-40)

I like the Washington Nationals in game one of this NL East series. Trevor Rogers has had a tough 2022 campaign and now he faces a Nats' lineup that has hit lefties very well in the last month or so and limits strikeouts at the plate, giving themselves plenty of opportunities with balls in play. Rogers' strikeout numbers are already down in 2022, and I do not like this matchup for him one bit. On the other side, Josiah Gray is really developing into the ace the Nationals need in that rotation. He has a good K rate and limits base hits, despite being susceptible to the home run ball at times. The Marlins' have a K % issue at the plate and I think Gray pitches well at his home stadium. I am not in love with the Nationals' bullpen but as of late it has been sharp and I think it is good enough for Washington to win in the end. Give me the boys in D.C. on the ML.
