Baltimore Orioles (76-70) vs Detroit Tigers (56-91)

The Orioles made Tyler Alexander look like a hall of fame last night as he had a no-hitter deep in that ballgame and yet again, the Orioles struggled against a lefty. Baltimore faces another lefty here in Joey Wentz, who I believe is sharper than Alexander and owns solid expected numbers with a 2.99 FIP and 3.79 xFIP. Wentz has not pitched many innings at the MLB level this season but he keeps the ball in the yard and has good control, so facing an Orioles team that is really struggling vs. LHP is a good spot to be in for Wentz. Austin Voth on the other side of this one is a starter that we found a ton of value betting on in the past couple of months, but that value has come and gone. Voth is not a -200 pitcher and we are starting to see him have control issues and pitching shorter outings as well. The Tigers are hitting RHP the best they have all season, which does not say a lot because this team has been miserable offensively all year, but at least things are improving. Detroit put together a great offensive performance on Monday night and while I don't think the Tigers score 11 here, I think they do enough offensively to keep this game close and perhaps win it outright. I will take the +1.5 runs.
