Boston Red Sox (75-83) vs Tampa Bay Rays (86-72)

When Rich Hill is not striking out batters he has struggled and that includes his start against these Rays back on September the 6th, where Hill only earned three Ks and allowed 9 hits, a homer, and five earned runs. Hill has not pitched well at Fenway this season and his GB to FB ratio is concerning. Add to the fact that the Rays have the lowest K rate as a team vs. LHP in the last 30 days at 13.9%, and that TBR is #2 in team OPS vs. LHP during that stretch as well, and this does not look to be a great spot for the southpaw. Devers and Bogaerts got the day off on Sunday so they should be rested for this game, but a trip back from Toronto is never easy and I think the Red Sox are looking to get this season over with as soon as possible. Boston was not competitive against the Blue Jays at all this weekend with three blowout losses, and now facing another team in the Rays that still has something to play for, I don't think things get easier. The Red Sox should be able to put runs on the board but with Hill and a weak Boston bullpen, I don't think it will be enough in the end.
