I am worried about Julio Urias in 2023. In the WBC and spring training, he did not look promising and his strikeout numbers in spring really concern me. Urias left a ton of runners on base last season and owned an unsustainably low .229 BABIP. Urias relied on luck and a very strong Dodgers defense, and that LAD defense lost a few key members in the offseason in guys like Cody Bellinger and Trea Turner up the middle of the field. Arizona's offense was very strong in spring training and there is a lot to be excited about in the Diamondbacks organization overall. The Dodgers do have an advantage in the bullpen department, albeit Arizona's pen has improved on paper going into 2023. The Dbacks played LAD tough at the end of the regular season last year, covering the run line in five of the last six matchups between the two. The Dbacks were also one of 10 teams that were profitable last year in RL bets despite owning a losing W/L record overall. Zac Gallen's spring training was not good and that is a bit concerning going into this start, but Gallen was also one of the strongest starters in the entire second half of the season last year and he pitched virtually spotless against LAD last year. I think Gallen battles enough here and I like the Dbacks to get to Urias early. Give me the +1.5 with ARI.
