I think Tampa Bay is a good place for Zach Eflin and I think Eflin, facing a Tigers lineup that was near the bottom of most important hitting metrics in the AL last year and a lineup that was shutout on Thursday, can put together a strong outing here. Spencer Turnbull missed the 2022 season with an injury but his advanced metrics in the MLB before the injury weren't great. Turnbull does not earn a lot of strikeouts and had issues in the spring keeping the ball down. I think TBR can get to Turnbull early and add a few runs on a Tigers' bullpen that was strong in 2022 but enters the 2023 season near the bottom in projected WAR according to FanGraphs. I think this game sets up to be all TB, so give me the Rays -1.5 at a nice plus money price.
