Houston Astros (1-1) vs Chicago White Sox (1-1)

The White Sox blew the lead for us on Friday night but I still liked what I saw from the White Sox lineup and the competitive at-bats they were taking. Chicago was one Andrew Benintendi catch away from beating the Astros for the second-straight game and the Sox have made it clear that they are going to compete this season with some of the better teams in the AL. Lucas Giolito is a bounce-back candidate for me, similar to Lance Lynn who dazzled on Friday night. Giolito was very unlucky in 2022 with his highest BABIP of .340 in his career and a high ERA but low FIP and xFIP. As long as Giolito avoids the free passes, and he is playing against an HOU team that was below-average in BB% in the last two months of the season last year vs. RHP, he should put together a strong first start of the season. Jose Urquidy is an auto-fade for me as he was one of the luckier starters in the league last year, owning a FIP of 4.60 and a strikeout/9 rating below 7.5. Urquidy's spring was concerning and the White Sox have already shown they have improved against RHP. Give me the White Sox ML.
