Atlanta Braves (66-58) vs Philadelphia Phillies (73-51)

Before the injury, Reynaldo Lopez was not in the best form for ATL has he had two bad starts vs. Cincinnati and San Diego (both Braves losses) and he had given up 21 hits in his last 15.0 innings. Lopez made his rehab start last week in the minors and did not fare too well there, conceding three earned runs and six hits with a walk and an HBP in just 4.0 innings of work. The Phillies have not been the strongest vs. RHP in August but the last two RHP starters that they faced in Jake Irvin and Edward Cabrera they were able to crush for 10 earned runs, four bombs, and five walks. Philly struggled vs. Lopez in the lone matchup against him on 07/07 but that was without Bryce Harper and Schwarby. The Phillies are the healthier team with the far better starting pitcher and a bullpen that is improving after a miserable July. The Braves' pen will be worked heavily tonight in my opinion as I don't think Sntiker is going to leave Lopez in for long, especially after he only went 4.0 innings in rehab. That is normally an O.K. thing for ATL as its bullpen has been fantastic overall in 2024, but in August the Braves' pen owns an ERA in the 5.00s. I have to roll with the Phillies -1.5 here at a great + money price.
