Peterson has proved me wrong a few times this season as he has been a very profitable option for NYM, but this is a bad matchup for the lefty. Peterson still owns that steep 5.16 xERA, but beyond that the Padres are just crushing LHP. San Diego is 5th and 7th in OPS and ISO vs. lefties in the last 30 days with a very low strikeout rate to go with it. I think this is going to be a problem for Peterson and I look for his pitch count to rise early in this game. Michael King has given up three earned runs or less in 14 of his last 15 starts which is incredible. King has consistently kept his team in ballgames and while this is a tough matchup, we saw Musgrove dominant on Friday and I think King is better. Give me the Padres on the RL as they are big favorites over a 7-1 3.00 ERA pitcher for a reason.
