Colorado Rockies (55-92) vs Chicago Cubs (75-71)

Normally I'd be a bit hesitant taking a team returning from a long, tough road trip but in the Rockies' case, they have actually performed well in this situation this season. It doesn't get any more difficult than when the Rockies played a West Coast trip in San Diego, San Francisco, and then Oakland and at the very end of that Oakland series, the A's and Rockies went to extras (11 and 12 innings) in back-to-back games. The Rockies then returned home with no days off to face one of the NL's best team in the Phillies and the Rockies went to extras again! This time beating the Phils as a huge dog 3-2 in 11 innings. We also saw something similar when the Rocks played the White Sox in a 14-inning classic on June 30th in Chicago and returned home the next day to beat the Brewers in extras as well! Gomber is in great form and he has pitched well at Coors. Assad only has one start at Coors in his career and it was a lousy start in 2023. The Rockies' bullpen may be without Peralta but should have everyone else available and this pen is pitching its best ball of the season by far recently. The Cubs have been mediocre vs. LHP in the last month and at a great plus-money price, I will take a shot with the Rockies at home.
