This sets up to be an ugly where not a lot of points are scored between the two teams, but I think getting a field goal with the home team is rather valuable at this price. You may want to wait and see if you can get 3.5 as this line has pressure on -3 for WSH, but I like the Texans at +3 anyhow as I think this is a perfect letdown spot for Washington. The Commanders beat their big rivals and only undefeated team in the league, the Eagles, in an emotionally charged MNF home game. Now, on a short week, you have to prepare for the lowly Texans in a road bout. Taylor Heinicke has been a solid game manager, but he does not have the talent to exploit even a defense as weak as Houston's. The Texans have done a really good job at getting pressure on QBs lately, forcing Jalen Hurts and Daniel Jones (two mobile QBs) into some bad throws and seven sacks in the last two weeks. Houston's offense has also looked a little bit better as of late than it was at the beginning of the year. Davis Mills has been Mr. Inconsistent but at least he is coming off a 300-passing yard day vs. NYG. Who has not been inconsistent is Dameon Pierce, the rookie RB from Florida has put together a stellar freshman campaign and should be able to keep the Texans' offense on the field a little more often than Washington would like here. I think the outright winner of this game is a coin flip, so if you are going to give me three points with the home team I am certainly going to take them. Give me Houston +3.
