BIG AL's WHITE-HOT NHL SLAPSHOT CLUB (17-5 RUN)!

At 7:00 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Maple Leafs over the Tampa Bay Lightning.  The Lightning won a dramatic Game 6 at home on Thursday to force this final game in a series that seems more appropriate as a Conference Final than a first-round match-up.  The game couldn't have been any closer as the two clubs went into overtime tied at three goals apiece.  And it concluded with the winning goal out of Brayden Point 18 minutes into the fourth period.  Unfortunately for the Lightning:  they're a poor 15-19 (minus 16.4 net games) off an overtime win.  Tonight, Tampa will have to contend not only with the Leafs, but also the crazed Toronto fans who could give the home team the upper hand.  And what started out as a series which didn't seem to favor the home team has turned into one as the hosts have won the last three now.  Tampa is 0-4 its last four off a win, and 2-6 in its last eight games as a road underdog, while the favorite is 5-2 in the last seven meetings of these two.  And Toronto's a solid 25-12 after giving up more than 3 goals.  Take the Maple Leafs.  As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
