Western Kentucky Hilltoppers -3.5
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will travel to the Alamodome to take on the UTSA Roadrunners this Friday night in the Ryan Conference USA Championship and I think Western Kentucky is able to cover this spread.
Western Kentucky comes into his game on a 7-game winning streak and has been incredible throughout the 2nd half the season behind what is College Football’s top-ranked passing attack. The Hilltoppers, led by QB Bailey Zappe, are averaging 43.3 ppg on 525.1 total yards per game.
UTSA cracked the top-25 this season and have been solid on both ends of the field this year, however, the Roadrunners just haven’t looked great over the past few weeks which included a 45-23 loss to North Texas last week.
The Hilltoppers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall & 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games. The Roadrunners are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning record & 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
UTSA was able to defeat Western Kentucky earlier in the season and although both offenses are still as dangerous as we saw in that game, I think the biggest difference in this one will be the Western Kentucky defense that has been playing much better as of late, holding their last 7 opponents to just an average of 18.9 ppg.
This should be a fun game to watch as both teams are going to score, however, as the UTSA defense has recently allowed North Texas & UAB to combine for 76 points, I think Western Kentucky has no problems putting up 45+ points in this one and that the Hilltoppers defense does enough to have Western Kentucky to cover this small spread. Good Luck!
