High Point has the best player in the Big South in John-Michael Wright and an offense that is averaging 75.4 ppg, however, this is a team that doesn’t have much depth and comes into this game with just a 3-4 record largely due to a defense that ranks 224th in scoring defense and an offense that is shooting just 62.8% from the FT-Line.

Elon comes into this game with just a 2-6 record, largely due to a defense that has struggled to slow down opposing offenses, however, the Phoenix have played a brutal schedule to start the season with includes games against Florida & West Virginia and I think are a much better team than what we’ve seen so far this season.

The Panthers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games & 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record. The Phoenix are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as a home favorite & 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite.

Elon has a strong offense that can put up plenty of points with the three-pointer (25th in three-pointers made per game; 82nd in 3P-FG%) and as I think Elon has plenty of success on their home court against a less than average High Point defense, I’m taking Elon to cover this small spread.
