Chicago Cubs (49-51) vs Cincinnati Reds (51-48)

I had to do a bit of research here, bu I really like the value that we’re getting with the Reds on the road in this one. Now Vlad Gutierrez is a rookie, and he’s shown it at times as he’s been hit hard in a couple of his starts, including last time up against the Mets. But of the three starts where Gutierrez gave up at least five runs, two of those starts were at home, and if you take out the 3rd start which was at San Diego, a Padres team that Gutierrez has struggled against in two starts this season, he’s allowed two runs or less in each of the other five starts on the road, giving up eight runsin 28 innings of work, going 3-1 with a 2.57 ERA. Once Gutierrez gets away from the hitter friendly confines of Great American Ballpark, the nerves seem to go away. Now Adbert Alzolay goes for the Cubs and while I do feel that Alzolay is a better pitcher than his numbers would indicate, I’m still not looking to bet this number with him, or the Cubs for that matter. I look for the Reds to rally behind their young rookie and help him get a win at some nice plus money here.
