Detroit Tigers (49-55) vs Baltimore Orioles (34-65)

Casey Mize struggled in his last start against Kansas City, but I think he bounces back in a big way here. The Orioles cranked out eight runs against the Marlins on Wednesday, but if there’s one thing I learned about the Orioles it’s that you can’t trust them for consistent offense for much of anything, as their terrible record is no fluke and didn’t just happen by accident. The Tigers have been playing pretty well considering there weren’t many high hopes for this team this season and the whole staff has a 3.75 ERA at home compared to 5.40 on the road. A lot of that also has contributed to the Tigers being hot at home, winning 13 of their last 16 home games. Mize has allowed more than three runs just once in eight home starts this season and you have to go all the way back to April for that start. Mize has been a much better pitcher since then and I think he gets the best of Alexander Wells and the Orioles here. Give me Detroit in this one.
