Houston Astros (47-27) vs New York Yankees (56-20)

I get why you could look at the Yankees here, as New York’s still boasting the best record in baseball. However, this is still a lot to ask the Yankees for, as they’re making a one game stop in Houston for a makeup game because of the lockout to start the year before a series in Cleveland for the weekend while the Astros welcome the Angels to Houston. I know a lot of people like to fade teams in their first home game off of a road trip, but to me all of the value is on the Astros here. Luis Severino hasn’t looked right in his last couple of starts, allowing three homers and eight earned runs in his last two outings and just took the loss against these same Astros in his last turn, pushing Severino to a 4.64 road ERA coming into this start. Luis Garcia pitches better on the road than at home, but the Astros are full of confidence after a late win over the Mets on Wednesday and the Yankees were lucky to get what they did from the Astros last week. I think this is a statement game for Houston. Give me the Astros in this one.
