Ruffolo's MLB Pickoff Play 7/28/22

The Red Sox came out firing against the Guardians in the opener, but in the last two games, the Guardians have been far and away the better team with lesser options than what they’ll have on the bump on Thursday and the Guardians just keep finding ways to pull it out kind of how they scrapped their way to the win on Wednesday. Triston McKenzie goes for the Guardians, and while his run won’t last forever, McKenzie’s been lights out in July, with a miniscule 0.34 ERA in four starts in the month and a .146 batting average against in that stretch. The Guardians as a team, are also 4-0 in those starts to no one’s real surprise and the Guardians have actually won McKenzie’s last 4 road starts. Kutter Crawford goes for the Red Sox here and he has a 4.50 ERA while allowing three or more runs in three of his last four starts, and with the way that McKenzie’s pitching, that may be more than enough to deal the BoSox another L.
