New York Yankees (69-34) vs Seattle Mariners (55-48)

I get why the Yankees are favored here, but I still find myself having a hard time trusting Domingo German as he’s only two starts into the season and the Yankees come in wounded after blowing the lead in Sunday’s finale in a big way to lose to Kansas City. Marco Gonzales goes for the Mariners here and while Gonzales can be prone to giving up some crooked numbers, the reality is that he pitches with the same intensity throughout, whether it be six no-hit innings or giving up five runs in two frames. It’s the same Gonzales pitching and he doesn’t quit. The Mariners also rally behind Gonzales on the road, as they’re 8-0 on the run line in Gonzales’ last 8 road starts and Gonzales himself has a better road ERA this season. The Mariners have played in more one-run games than anyone this season and I think another one could be on deck if the Yankees don’t win it outright. Give me the Mariners +1.5 here.
Chris’s Pick Seattle Mariners: +1.5 -123
