Texas Rangers (46-58) vs Chicago White Sox (53-51)

Cole Ragans is a solid prospect for the Rangers and he’s getting the call on Thursday, but this feels like a far from ideal spot for me if I’m Ragans. The Rangers had a chance to salvage something from their series against Baltimore on Wednesday but once again fell short and now have to send Ragans, a lefty, to the mound against a White sox team that’s leading the league in hitting lefties on the road with a .297 batting average as well as sitting 2nd in batting average against lefties overall, hitting .279 against lefties this season. The White Sox got a pair of key wins against Kansas City to keep pace in the AL Central race and right now, the White Sox just look like they want it more than the Rangers do. Johnny Cueto goes for the White Sox here and like the White Sox as a team, Cueto’s pitched better on the road with a 1.70 ERA compared to an ERA near four at home this season. With a reasonable line, the White Sox are the play for me here.
