Cleveland Guardians (54-51) vs Houston Astros (69-38)

I get why it could be tempting to back a home underdog in spots and the Guardians are still in the mix for the AL Central crown. However, the Guardians will have their spot to make up games in the division race and this just isn’t one of those spots with the Houston Astros on the other side. The Astros have been kicking the crap out of Cleveland so far in this series and I don’t expect that to change with Luis Garcia going for Houston. Garcia’s been better from an ERA perspective on the road this season and the Astros have really picked it up offensively since the all-star break. Cal Quantrill’s allowed 10 runs, 9 earned, in 11.1 innings of work in his last two starts and despite getting wins over the Red Sox and Diamondbacks in both of those games, the reality here is that the Astros are a whole other ball of wax. I think the Astros continue their dominance over the Guardians in Saturday’s matchup.
