I’m on the Dodgers -1.5 here. The Dodgers run line came through on Monday in the series opener and while Bailey Ober pitched well, it was a lack of offense that did him in and that was against James Paxton, a pitcher that struggles to generate strikeouts. Tyler Glasnow starts Tuesday and this guy lives with double-digit strikeout per 9 innings averages year after year and the Twins have a propensity to strike out a ton at the plate. I think this is just a bad matchup for a Twins team with a 25% strikeout rate against righties this season. Louie Varland wasn’t terrible in his debut, but he could be a lot better and is going to have a hard time with this potent Dodger lineup. Minnesota is 2nd-worst in baseball, averaging just 2.88 runs per game this season and are 4th-worst with 10 strikeouts per game this season. I think Glasnow thrives here and the Dodgers get their 4th run line cover in as many starts for Glasnow this season. Give me Los Angeles -1.5 here.
