Borussia Monchengladbach vs. Real Madrid

Real Madrid were shocked by Shakhtar Donetsk in a 3-2 loss in the opening matchday last week, and I thought for sure that would doom them in El Clasico over the weekend against Barcelona, but it only made Madrid stronger as Real beat Barca 3-1. Now they get another test in a Borussia Monchengladbach side that is coming off of a come from behind win over Mainz (which is a bit startling considering Mainz has lost all five games this season in last place but another story for another day), and is on a four-game unbeaten run after the win. I think Madrid knows that getting 0 points in two games is a big hole to try to dig out of and quite frankly for a team of Real’s stature, it’s almost unacceptable. I’m backing Real Madrid to bounce back and get the job done against Monchengladbach, but I do think that both teams get on the score sheet here as Gladbach has some solid weapons like Alassane Plea and Marcus Thuram on the squad that can score so I’ll take Real Madrid and both teams to score for plus money as my premium pick in this game.
