West Ham United vs. Chelsea - 7/1/20 Premier League Soccer Picks and Prediction

West Ham United (LLLWL) and Chelsea (WWWWW) will meet on Wednesday, July 1st for an English Premier League (EPL). The match is scheduled for a 3:15 PM EST start time and it will be played at London Stadium. 

West Ham United will enjoy over a week's worth of rest, as its last match was all the way back on June 23rd against Tottenham Hotspur. That match was a 2-0 loss for West Ham United, who has struggled badly as of late. West Ham United is right on the bubble of relegation at 17th place in the English Premier League. It will not get any easier for West Ham United, as they have to take on a Chelsea team that is firing on all cylinders. West Ham United's future does not look too bad, however, as the team will be playing some easier fixtures for most of the rest of the season. 

Chelsea is coming off its 1-0 victory over Leicester City in the quarterfinals of the English FA Cup. Chelsea has won all five of its past matches, defeating teams like Manchester City, Everton, and Liverpool along the way. Chelsea's Ross Barkley was the goal scorer for the team in its win over Leicester City. Barkley fired a beautiful shot with his right foot in the middle of the box to give Chelsea the only goal necessary in the match. Chelsea's defense has been strong in its last five matches, only allowing a total of two goals during that span. Chelsea will only have a couple of days of rest when it takes on West Ham United, but I for one do not think that will phase them.
