The Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants face off on Wednesday in an MLB showdown at Oracle Park. On Tuesday it was the Giants that were able to secure the 4-3 victory.

The Giants come into this game with a 40-33 record overall and they have won two of their last three games. A few games ago against the Reds the offense was elite scoring nine runs and that led to an easy victory. Overall this season the strength of the Giants team has been the offense and they are averaging 4.9 runs per game which is 4th best in the league. Wilmer Flores has hit nine home runs and driven in 40 RBIs.

On the other side of this matchup is the Tigers who sit with a 28-45 and their offense has been a big issue all season. The Giants are averaging only three runs per game which is last in baseball. If the Tigers want to turn around this season they are going to need the offense to find a way to get going. Wilmer Flores is having a big season hitting nine home runs and driving in 40 RBIs.

On the mound for the TIgers is Rony Garcia who sits with a 2-2 record and an ERA of 4.57. In his last start against the Arizona Diamondbacks, he went 5.1 innings giving up three hits and one run.

On the mound for the Giants is Alex Wood who sits with a 5-6 record and an ERA of 5.05. In his last start against the Braves, he went an inning giving up four hits and six runs.

The Giants are 8-0 in their last eight during Game 2 of a series. The Giants are 0-4 in their last four games against a right-handed starter. The over is 6-1 in Wood’s last seven interleague games.

This Tigers offense has been a big issue, and even though I don’t trust Alex Wood, Detroit is going to have some major issues scoring. The Giants also will have issues scoring against Garcia and that is going to be the difference as this game stays under the total. Back the under.
