The Chicago Sky and Atlanta Dream face off in their 11th game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Sunday.
The Chicago Sky haven’t been terrible this season, but they haven’t really been great either, The Sky are coming off a loss and over their last six games they have won three of the games. In the last game the Sky’s they actually didn’t play terribly against the Connecticut Sun but the ten points scored in the second quarter let them down. In the Sky’s last game Cheyenne Parker was the best player putting up 17 points and six rebounds per game.
On the season the Sky are averaging 85.5 points while giving up 83.8 points per game. Overall this season the best player for the Sky has been Allie Quigley and he comes into this game averaging 14.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. Five players for the Sky are averaging at least 10.5 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Atlanta Dream who have really struggled inside the bubble. The Dream started out their time inside the bubble with a win, but since that point they have lost nine games in a row. In the Dream’s last game they were able to score 80 points but in the last game they put up 96 points. In the last game the Dream’s offense really struggled in the first quarter scoring only 12 points and that led to the loss. In this game if they want any chance to come away with a victory, they can’t get out to a slow start or they are going to be in big trouble.
On the season the Dream are averaging 80.2 points per game while giving up 91.4 points per game. The best player for the Dream has been Chennedy Carter who comes into this game averaging 17 points and 3.9 assists per game.
The Sky haven’t been great, but there is no doubt they are the better team in this matchup. Look for the Dream’s defense to let them down and that will be the difference. Back the Sky to win this game and cover the spread.
