The West Virginia Mountaineers and Gonzaga Bulldogs face off on Wednesday in a college basketball showdown at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
West Virginia have looked impressive to start the season and coming into this game they have won all three of their games. Each of the last two games, West Virginia has also covered the spreads. West Virginia is averaging 75.7 points per game while their defense is giving up 67 points. West Virginia is led by Miles McBride who is averaging 16.3 points while shooting 41.5 percent from the field. Derek Culver has also found a lot of success averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds. West Virginia knows their defense need to be good or they will probably struggle to win a shootout.
On the other side of this matchup is the Gonzaga Bulldogs who are the number one team in the country, and they sure look like they deserve it at this point of the season. Gonzaga has won two games this season over Auburn and Kansas. In the first game against Kansas, Gonzaga gave up 90 points, but their offense scored 102 points. Gonzaga is led by forward Drew Timme who is averaging 26.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Jalen Suggs also looks like he is going to be a high draft pick in next years draft and so far this year Suggs is averaging 18 points while shooting 62.5 percent from the field. Suggs is also a strong passer who gets everyone involved.
The under is 8-1 in West Virginia’s last nine non-conference games. The over is 10-1 in Gonzaga’s last 11 non-conference games. The over is 7-1 in Gonzaga’s last eight games played on Wednesday. The over is 7-1 in Gonzaga’s last eight neutral site games.
West Virginia might try to slow down the pace, but it’s not going to work. Gonzaga is going to run up the score, If West Virginia wants to keep up they are going to have to score. And this game is going to be a shootout. Back the over to cash with ease. This is game where you could buy all the way up to 160 if its an option for added value
