UNC Asheville Bulldogs (5-3) vs Chattanooga Mocs (7-1)

My math model only favors Chattanooga by 5.8 points in this game and the circumstances are less than ideal for the Mocs. Specifically, Chattanooga is playing its third consecutive road game in a span of nine days and could suffer a letdown after winning its previous two contests by a combined 38 points. Indeed, since 1997, the Mocs are a money-burning 3-13 ATS following back-to-back wins by fifteen or more points. UNC-Asheville head coach Mike Morrell has every reason to be optimistic about this season as the Bulldogs returned all five starters from last year's squad. Asheville's offense is led by redshirt senior Tajion Jones, who is averaging a team-best 11.5 points per game. The Bulldogs' frontcourt is anchored by Jamon Battle, who is second on the team in scoring (10.4 ppg) and is shooting 60.0% from the field and 50.0% from beyond the arc. Asheville's success is predicated on a suffocating defense that has been 5.5 points per game better than average this season. Opposing teams are shooting just 40.0% FG% and 23.7% 3-PT against the Bulldogs this season and it's that aggressive defense that will keep them in tonight's game. Grab the points with UNC Asheville and invest with confidence.
