I think Marquette is a fine team and Shaka Smart is an excellent coach, but this is a putrid matchup. You are in your first road test of the season against a very tough Purdue team and the things that Purdue excels in just so happen to exploit your biggest weaknesses. Edey at 7'5 is almost a cheat code when it comes to rebounding and Marquette was one of the worst rebounding teams in the nation last year, and it looks like that is going to be the case again this year. Purdue is also top-10 in the nation in 3-point defense so far this season and Marquette is very reliant on its three-point jumpers. Marquette has taken 57 threes in 2 games and while the shots were falling against CMU I don't think it can be relied upon on the road against a tough Purdue perimeter defense. Purdue should get to the free-throw line often in this game and take advantage of a subpar Marquette defense. I think Purdue runs away with this one so I will lay the points with the Boilermakers.

Ron’s Pick Purdue Boilermakers: -8.5 -110
