St. John's is on an impressive eight-game win streak and has a 10-1 Big East record, but the Red Storm have benefitted from a very weak conference schedule. St. John's will play Marquette x2, UConn x2, Creighton, and Villanova the rest of the way and I think it will find a chunk of Ls there. St. John's has yet to earn a top-40 KenPom win this year while Marquette has racked up 5 of them. Marquette is the far better team shot quality wise, especially on the offensive side of the floor. St. John's defense is the real deal, but it also matches up a lot better against teams that have bad backcourts and do a bad job at taking care of the ball. For Marquette, that couldn't be further from the case, as Kam Jones is one of the best players in the country and Marquette is #1 in the nation in limiting turnovers % wise. I think this is plainly a bad matchup for St. John's and because of its win streak + Marquette's loss to UConn last time out, we can get the Golden Eagles at a steal of a price. The wrong team is favored here, so give me Marquette.

Ron’s Pick Marquette: +3 -115
