Miami Marlins (62-89) vs Washington Nationals (52-98)

This Sunday card is a tough one that I will be being extra careful with, but getting plus money with Miami -1.5 is a good place to be in. Anibal Sanchez has held down the fort for the Nationals lately but his K rate is still not great and his groundball to fly ball ratio is also a bit scary. A couple of starts back against the Phillies Sanchez was not able to earn a single groundout in the game! Miami just faced Sanchez in his last start and the Marlins were starting to get to him more and more as the start continued. Only three Marlins struck out in 6.0 innings of Sanchez in that game and since he is facing them again in such a short time frame, I expect the Marlins' bats to be ready and prepared this go around. The Marlins' offense has looked better in the last week or so and Miami has already covered the run line easily in the first two games of this series, so why not take another shot with the Fish -1.5 at plus money odds? Edward Cabrera certainly has some regression concerns in his game, but I think the Marlins' bats do enough early on for Miami to win and cover in the end. Give me the Marlins -1.5.
