New York Knicks (2-4) vs Los Angeles Clippers (3-2)

The Knicks fall into a system of mine that was very profitable last season that bets on teams coming off of poor three-point shooting performances when they are facing a team that shot well from deep in their last game. We usually get value on those poor-shooting teams in their next game, and that is definitely the case here with NYK. James Harden makes his Clippers debut tonight and I actually think that is a good thing. We know Harden's lack of hustle has been an issue at times in his career and in his first game of the season for any team, I don't think he will be at 100% game speed and be the defensive liability he always has been. For the Knicks, a team struggling to find offense from players other than Brunson, this is a good spot and matchup at MSG. The Knicks lost to Milwaukee on the road by five in their last game but that was a game in which Milwaukee drilled 20 threes at an over 50% clip! The Knicks were outshot by roughly 25% from deep in that game and STILL had a chance. That was because NYK dominated the paint in that game, holding Giannis and the Bucks to a measly 28 points in the paint! Giannis, who averaged over 31 points per game last year, was held to just 22 in that one, so NYK is obviously where it needs to be defensively, especially in the frontcourt. I think the Knicks will have a big offensive rebounding advantage in this game and the offense should get going. I like the Knicks at home here.
