This is a play on the KANSAS CITY ROYALS as part of our MLB Afternoon Triple Play. Seattle left town on a three-game winning streak and riding a 7-1 and it made it four straight wins with a series opening win against lowly Oakland but then split the next two games before losing the first two games of this series, allowing 19 runs. The Mariners have struggled on the road all season going 15-19. Following an eight-game winning streak, the Royals hit the skids with a 2-7 run before winning their last three games. They have been average on the road with a 14-15 record but they have the third best home record in baseball at 24-10 and show no signs of slowing down. Kansas City has made up some ground in the American League Central as it is now just three games behind Cleveland. Cole Ragans has allowed three runs or less in 11 of his 13 starts including one run or less seven times. His overall ERA of 3.21 is identical with his xERA of 3.21 and his wOBA and xwOBA are by far the best on the staff. He has allowed only three home runs over 73 innings and is in the top third percentile in 13 of 17 pitching metrics including top 80 percentile in five of those. George Kirby put together two awesome seasons in 2022 and 2023 as he posted a 3.37 ERA over 56 combined starts and while hew has pitched well at time this season, he has been the most inconsistent of his young career. He has allowed four runs or more five times and four of those have been on the road and he does not have a good matchup here with the Royals. 10* (964) Kansas City Royals
