At 6:35 pm, our selection is on the Baltimore Orioles over the Cleveland Guardians.  Heading into this season, the Orioles had a long streak of not being swept in a series.  That streak stood at 91 on opening day and it reached 106 until the Cardinals ended it in May.  The O's then went eight more series before being swept a second time in 2024 this past weekend by the Astros in Houston.  A string of injuries to its starters has Baltimore in a bit of a pickle as we approach the halfway point of the season.  Nevertheless, the show goes on and tonight the O's will look to their latest rookie pitching prospect as 24-year-old LH Cade Povich gets his fourth Orioles start.  He's still looking for his first MLB victory and it could come tonight at home as the youngster has been solid for his team, and appears to be getting better with each start.  Indeed, in his last outing, Povich out-pitched Gerrit Cole.  Cleveland starter Tanner Bibee has had a solid season, but he hasn't faced many lineups with the power of the O's.  Take Baltimore.  As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
