BIG AL's NHL TOTAL OF THE YEAR (42-21 RUN)!

At 8:20 pm, on Monday, our selection is on the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers to go UNDER the total.  Our preseason futures selection on the Edmonton Oilers (at 11-1 odds) is still alive, and it would be a great week for our futures since we cashed the Celtics (at 4-1 odds) last week.  But rather than focus on a side selection for this Game 7, we're going to look the way of the total.  Certainly, the pressure is going to weigh heavy on both teams, with each facing elimination with a Game 7 defeat.  And I expect both teams to play relatively conservatively with that pressure at hand, as neither will want to make a mistake.  Indeed, in the history of the Stanley Cup Final, Game 7s have averaged 4.06 goals per game.  Additionally, for the season, Florida has gone 61-41 under, including 21-14 under off a loss (and 10-4 under off back to back losses).  Edmonton has also gone under the total more often than not this season, including 36-26 under off a win (and 26-15 under off back to back wins).  And Edmonton is 39-27 under off back-to-back games where they scored 5+ goals.  Take the UNDER.  Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
