St. Louis Blues (43-30-8) vs Utah Hockey Club (38-30-13)
Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 8:00 pm
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the St. Louis Blues over the Utah Hockey Club. Currently sitting in the second Wild Card spot with one regular season game to go, the Blues seem to be doing everything they can to not make the playoffs for the third straight season. St. Louis has lost three in a row (all on the road) and if it loses tonight and the Flames win their remaining two games (or a win plus an OT loss) then the Blues would be on the outside looking in once again (Calgary also plays tonight and starts one hour later than this game). So you could call tonight's match-up with Utah the Blues' most important game of the entire season. They are home which is a plus as Jordan Binnington has won 10 straight home games. For the season, the Blues are 23-14-3 here and they should get defenseman Peter Broberg back for their finale (Broberg -- who has a +/- of +21 -- missed the last game for personal reasons). After losing the first two meetings with Utah by identical 4-2 scores, St. Louis won the last meeting in Salt Lake, 2-1 on February 2. Utah is 13-25 as an underdog in its first season (9-15 as a road underdog). Take the Blues. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
