Houston Astros / Boston Red Sox – Over 9

The Houston Astros will travel to Fenway Park to take on the Boston Red Sox tonight and after taking a deeper look at this game, I’m riding with the Over tonight as I think this game has no trouble combing for 10+ runs.

Houston will be going with Jose Urquidy on the mound tonight who although had a solid season, posting a 3.62 ERA & 0.99 WHIP, was shut down at one for about two months due to shoulder discomfort and at this point, hasn’t pitched in over 2 weeks since he allowed 3 ERs (2 HR) over 6.0 IP against Oakland on October 3rd.

The Red Sox will go with the LHP Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound today which should make Houston quite happy as Rodriguez has posted a 5.95 ERA at Fenway Park this season and was rocked by Houston in two starts this season, allowing 12 ER’s (13 hits & 5 BB) over just 9.1 IP.

Over is 5-0 in the Astros last 5 games while the Over is 5-0 in the Red Sox last 5 Playoff games.

Boston and Houston are the two top hitting teams remaining in the playoffs as the Red Sox are posting a .318 average/.925 OPS while the Astros are posting a .286 average/.806 OPS and as I like both pitching matchups for these offenses and that they will be playing at the very hitter-friendly Fenway Park, I’m liking the Over tonight.
